Apple World? How They are Slowly Taking Over

Apple Co. has a unique marketing approach. Its simple and consistent design has created a buzz among its users. Apple has figured out how to attract and retain customers through its unique marketing approaches. Apple was the first among all other computer companies to have retail stores for customers to come in and purchase a computer. The design and layout of the store was very simple and user friendly, which reflects Apples product image very well. Apple stores helped the company understand what the consumers wanted and created a physical place where consumers can get hands on help from highly trained staff.  The company reveals only a limited amount of its new products, which stresses scarcity. When consumers know that there are only a limited amount of the product available, they are more inclined to make a purchase at the release date. This has been proven to be successful for this company.

Over the years Apple has been introducing more product lines to its product base. Currently, it has a product line of computers, iPads, iPods, iPhones, and just recently introduced the Apple TV.
What is the next big thing that Apple is going to release? I came across an article on Adweek that outlined the next bold steps for this company. Some of the new product lines that Apple can produce in the near future are cars, condos, and banks! This technology based giant could easily and successfully, based on its brand image and historical data enter into new markets. Who knows, maybe someday we will be using apple credit cards to buy our groceries and gas, live in Apple condos fully equipped with Apple based products, and drive an Apple car to work everyday.

Email Marketing: Win or Fail?

Consumers have been switching their shopping habits from the brick and motor shops to online shops over the past few years. We have seen a huge increase in online sales over the last year, and as this continues to grow we will see more and more companies adapt to this online shopping trend. Some say that it is of the past, but is it really? Maybe we are at the tipping point of connecting with consumers online. How can companies make a shopping experience more pleasing through their website? Any company that has a web presence is entering a whirl pool of sharks (competition), because almost every business has a website. Online marketing (digital marketing) is vastly different than traditional marketing (word of mouth, promotional pamphlets, events, and ect.)

So without the need for sales associates in the store, online business use email marketing to drive sales. It is an appropriate  direct channel for communication between companies and consumers. According to a study by ExacTarget, "94% of consumers prefer at least one form of marketing communication come through email."

The communication process is more digital now than ever, with 91% of adults owning a cell phone. Most of those mobile devices have an email app, where consumers continually check their email on a daily basis. As you can see, email marketing is essential for any business today. Email marketing is affordable, reaches a wide range of consumers, and very measurable. Through the analytics of the email marketing  software, a company can view whether a customer clicked on the email, trashed the email, or redeemed a coupon from that email. This information collected from the analytics will help the company better create their future emails and give them more insight of their target markets behaviors.

The top companies of the industry compete to have the funniest and most engaging advertisement. It is a marketing dream for a company if their ad went viral. This is because they paid a lot of money for the ad to be broadcast during the Super Bowl. One particular ad that went viral last year was the "Go Daddy.com" advertisement, which featured Jessie Heiman and Bar Refaeli scandalously making out on national television. This was a bold step for the company, and a huge shock for America. This ad went viral for the wrong reasons, and has negatively effected the companies image in the eyes of the consumers. It didn't show what the company did or what it stood for, which is website hosting. This article talks about how Go Daddy decided to change its approaches.

Super Bowl 48 may have been a disappointment for those who were watching football, but for those who tuned in for the commercials were able to be enlightened by the creativity of some of the top brands in America. Go Daddy followed through with their word and created better advertisements this year. Check them out below.
